Bernard Ashby, MD, MPP, RPVI
Dr. Ashby is a vascular cardiologist and internist who specializes in clinical cardiology, vascular medicine, and general medicine. He was born and raised in South Florida and is of Caribbean descent. His areas of expertise include preventative medicine, cardiovascular disease risk assessment and prevention, heart failure, dyslipidemias, resistant hypertension, peripheral artery disease, aortic aneurysms, carotid and renal artery disease, venous disease, rare vascular diseases, and limb salvage.
Dr. Ashby attended medical school at Cornell University in New York and studied health policy at Princeton University in New Jersey. He completed his internship and residency at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. He completed his cardiology training at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC, where he was named chief fellow.
Dr. Ashby also completed a postdoctoral clinical and research fellowship in vascular medicine at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He started his career as an academic vascular cardiologist at Mount Sinai Medical Center and professor of Medicine at Columbia University. Dr. Ashby is now joining Treasure Coast Heart and Vascular and is excited to bring his expertise in caring for patients to the Treasure Coast.
